One Month Old

Hello!! Wanted to post a quick blog to let you all know how we and sweet Elijah are progressing...

Elijah is one month old now!! He is growing so fast! You all know he was a pretty small little guy when we brought him home- weighing in at only 5 lbs 11 oz. Within 16 days of our homecoming, at his first "well-baby" visit, he had gained more than TWO pounds and 3/4 of an inch- 7 lbs 14 oz and 21.5"!!! It made me feel super successful as a breastfeeding Mommy (which, by the way, is clearly going really well thanks to my Mom). In the past few weeks he has gotten continually more alert, interactive, and communicative. It's so much fun to watch the wheels in his head spin and to get to know his little personality. He has such a sweet and mellow disposition... We are so lucky!! A few of the pictures posted above are from the professional photo shoot we did with our friends James and Lauren of JL Photography (jlpics.com) when he was 2 1/2 weeks. They were able to come to our house and get the cutest pictures... We are so grateful! I also posted one of his first bath (he was clearly thrilled). You can see in the "One Month" picture on the left that Elijah has lost all the hair on TOP of his head... Daddy's genes must be strong!! Hopefully it grows back soon... Until then, we lovingly call him "Curly the Stooge."

We are finally getting into the groove of being new parents and have been on a steep learning curve. Everyone always says "nothing will ever prepare you" and WOW.... Is that true!!! It's been a whirlwind month... I can't believe it has gone so fast. We are so looking forward to each day as it comes and enjoying every minute. For those of you that have yet to meet him, I'm sorry I have been slow to follow up with friends wanting to come visit. I have found it very hard to make plans but I am working on getting back to everyone and hope you all can meet him soon!
